Cuddle time
I think she looks like her cousin Isaac in this picture. Big eyes, round face. I can't wait until they meet each other.

Meet the (great-grand) parents
Natalie had a very big day today. She met all of her great-grandparents. This is Corey's Grandma Acey. Natalie even opened her eyes for her. This is Grandpa Records. Even though he didn't think he would be, he stayed around for all his great-grandkids to be born. We love Grandpa so much, he's such a great example to all of us. It was so nice to see a big smile on his face when he met Natalie. This is my lovely Grandma Records. She gave us a beautiful book of children's prayers with great illustrations.
Now to answer my fan mail. I have had many questions in regards to how the cats are doing with the baby. We'll start with Mia. She is crabby, but tolerating Natalie. If I am holding Natalie, Mia will even come sit on my lap. She also likes to hide under Natalie's chair and jump out and attack Maggie. Maggie, on the other hand is falling apart. She is so stressed out. If Corey is holding Natalie and she begins to cry, Maggie comes to find me. She often hides and just isn't quite sure what to do. This makes Mia even crabbier. In this picture, Mia was sitting with Corey and Maggie came and sat on top of her. The second most popular question was what is Natalie's nick name. She doesn't have one. No Nat, Natty, Natal, Nate, etc. Just Natalie or as my friend suggested, N-Dogg. Word.

Switched after Birth
With all the babies being born into this family, I'm certainly hoping that we don't accidently switch them when we all get together. When Mark and Jill brought Caleb to the hospital to visit Natalie, we had a near miss. At Christmas, we will all be together, and things will be even more challenging. Besides Isaac, Caleb, and Natalie, we also have another new cousin Emma (sorry no pictures yet). So in order to prepare, I have a little test for you. Try and match the correct cousin with the correct name. Good luck!A.

Super Dad
Corey has been a huge help since we got home from the hospital. He's done all the laundry and dishes and cleaning up. Today he worked on raking the leaves. Diapers and baths are still a little traumatic (for both), but I'm so glad he is helping!

Joke time
Today, for bonding time, we told jokes to Natalie.Gretchen: "So Natalie, a priest, a minister, and a Rabbi walk into a bar."
Natalie (in her head, she doesn't talk yet): (oh great, here we go)
Gretchen: The bartender looks up and says 'what is this, a joke?'
Natalie: I'm so embarassed.

Super Star
So Saturday the "fertogrepher" came around to take Natalie's picture. Corey and I had 2 outfit choices that we brought, and I let him choose. You've probaby seen it, the little Halloween outfit with the cat hat. Soon all the nurses came trickling in to see Natalie, because the photographer had shown everyone. She was the little unit super star. So we loaded her up in the crib and took a lap around unit so she could show off. (She's already acting exactly like Corey). This is her snuggling up to her grandpa.
Great-grandma Records got to come up to see Natalie.
Grandma Records loves those chubby cheeks. We have to be careful, or she'll bite them. Natalie is blessed to have so many family and friends who love her already!

Two tuckered out ladies.
Proud Papa.

Bizarre things always happen to me.....
Last night was our last baby class. I was in a hurry to leave and just wanted to get home. On our way out of the elevator, I dropped our car keys. They hit the crack between the elevator and the opening. I bent to pick them up, and alas, they fell....and fell...and fell...down to the abyss of the bottom of the elevator shaft. I am always doing dumb things. On another note, I just finished all my Christmas shopping just now. Everyone on my list gets one of these handy shirts.
Nothing like buying a little self esteem.
